- Apply the preset: This applies a color pallette and micro-contrast to an image.
- Adjust Exposure: Exposure often needs to be increased as most cameras try to protect highlights on Auto. Exposure tames the contrast alone with Tone Profiles.
- Adjust white balance and tint: This step dials-in perfect skin tones and fixes white balance/tint biases per camera. Most cameras don't get this right with Auto White Balance, and learning white balance adjustments fixes this.

How did we do?
This film preset has a noticeably cool color temperature. Forrest Lane specfically desinged FujiColor 400 C to simulate the unique desaturated aesthetic of images taken with old analog cameras, but with light blue accents. As a result, you can get the charm of vintage photos and the added nostlagic feel of cool hues.

Mutes Tones and Colors for an Analog Film Effect
Soft Drama. The photo above takes on a cooler and subdued feel after applying this preset. The skin tone is paler as blue tones are added to both highlights and shadows. There is also a decrease in vibrance and luminance to give an overall tranquil feel.
We consider this as one of our favorite film presets for portraits. Even with its lack of vibrance, FujiColor 400 C makes up for it by instead drawing out tender expressions in portraits. Its light and soft aesthetic reveals so much of the subject’s face and features.
Adds a Dramatic Cool Tint
Cool and Calm. With a simple adjustment and the right blending, the preset can transform the mood of any photograph. Take the scene above, for example. The warmly illuminated street becomes noticeably whiter because of the infusion of blue tones. The white walls now have cooler hues as well. This shift in color temperature combined with some film settings produce such a nostalgic effect.
Produces a Detailed Retro Film Style
Textured. This free preset is also good for outdoor shots. As you can see in the example above, there are now clearer details on the walls and peaks. This is because of its sharpening enhancements. After all, when taking travel or landscape photos, it is important to capture as much detail as possible. Textures play an important role in this type of photograph.
